![]() This gets me the metadata in pro tools and i can use the field recorder workflow to replace all the audio i need. ()įormat : Broadcast Wave (this gets us metadata) If something got offline, and outputs an AAF. Once it's in Premiere, the editor has to check if its all linked On the XML to prepare the XML for Adobe Premiere CC 2019 He can assign roles to groups of clips at once, it's not very demanding on his time. ![]() The more detailed he gets with the roles, the better. So it makes it very easy for you to spot the DIA, FX, MUS, ATMOS, to your dedicated tracks when you import instead of having to listen thruĪudio1,Audio2, tracks and getting gray hair in the process. This is crucial, as you get track names from audio roles. When editing in FCPx, talk with the editor to use AUDIO ROLES extensively. Also, make sure the editor is not using mixed frequency audio clips in the timeline (some 44100, some 48000) It's important to unlink clips first so you do not lose audio and nothing gets moved in the 'magnetic' timeline. So what we do for the full 45 minute episode of this series is we first prepare the special edit for XML audio only export, removing all video and titles, etc.īasically what he does he makes a copy of the original edit, then on that copy, he removes everything we do not need in audio post. The editor is using FCPX 10.4.5 on Mojave. Very frustrating.Ĭould the editor just give all retimed clips a separate "retimed" role to at least keep them together to make it easier to sort out once in PT? If the editor is speeding up/slowing down audio you won't get it, and if you do get it, it won't be retimed and will likely be placed somewhere random in the timeline. X2Pro DOES NOT support retimed clips from FCPX. That's really useful to know about roles, sounds like at least I might get a reasonably organised AAF if they stick to labelling clips consistently. If the editor doesn't assign roles you get a mess of an AAF and get to spend a day sorting it out because everything will be labelled the default (Dialogue). This is key b/c X2Pro will create tracks in the AAF based off the roles in the FCPX project. Each audio clip in their sequence should be assigned a role. The video editor needs to utilize audio roles in their sequence (Narr, Prod, SFX, Music, etc.). Thanks Stone, that's really helpful, exactly the sort of info I was looking for!
